Gyros in Greece

Quarantine time calls for me raving about food I have had the opportunity to eat while abroad, and check off of my food bucket list.

I have always loved gyros, so of course, eating a gyro in Greece was on my food bucket list. I didn't have a gyro on my first day in Greece, but on my first day I scoped out all of the gyro places in Old Town Kos to ensure I knew where to go for lunch the next day. I ended up eating at a super cute family owned gyro place that was tucked in one of the alleys of Old Town Kos. I ordered my gyro and fanta at the ordering window and sat on the opposite side of the alley at an empty table. When the gyro came out a short while later, I was so excited to chow down. Let me tell you what, this was single handedly the most amazing gyro I have ever had and on top of that, there was an amazing street band playing while I ate my food.

If you are looking for a delicious food to try while in Greece, grab a gyro. Or even better, grab a gyro from a local business. This is definitely one to add to your food bucket list if it isn't there yet. Because, let's be real, who doesn't love meat and tzatziki on a pita?
